Alice In Wonderland is an adventure video game developed by Digital Eclipse Software and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color. It was initially released in the year 2000, and follows the plot of the 1951 animated Disney film of the same name. As the story goes, once upon a time, there was a young girl named Alice who loved sitting on a tree while daydreaming. One day, she caught sight of a curious thing - a rabbit running along with a pocket watch. Thus begins the adventures of Alice as she stumbles into Wonderland.

The core gameplay of Alice In Wonderland is a side-scrolling platform game where you control Alice with the arrow keys and use the Z key to jump. As mentioned before, you follow the plot of the animated film, so you are basically moving from one point to another to trigger cutscenes that continue the story and advance the plot. Among the things you need to look out for are pitfalls and ponds in which Alice can fall into. Given the time this game was released, you need to be careful not to fail jumps, or you will get sent right back to the beginning of the level.

Some of the highlights in this game include the various types of sections you will encounter at different levels, like when Alice is transformed into her miniature form. Alice changes between her normal and miniature form quite a few times, and there are also some exciting sections, like navigating through rapids while trapped in a bottle.

Moving on to the more technical side of things, the graphics and visuals of Alice in Wonderland are pretty hit or miss. The cutscenes with the illustrations are great, but the graphics during the platform gameplay might be a bit tough on the eyes. As for the sound design, it’s serviceable enough for the game, although the constant drone of the BGM may become a bit too much.

To sum it all up, Alice In Wonderland is a decent platform game that will let you relive the days of Game Boy Color. Head on over to retrogames and play this one for free now.
